Tanya Barron, Chief Executive of Plan UK, said: “We are hearing reports of many Syrian children experiencing harassment and exposure to violence in schools. It’s a particular problem for girls who are often more vulnerable.”
“Last year, we reported on the plight of those living in camps. More than 40 per cent of children surveyed said they felt afraid, including being fearful of theft and kidnapping.
“It’s clear more must be done more to support children at risk of violence and harassment, or we could see more families risk taking dangerous trips across the Mediterranean.”
